The Federal Government of Nigerian has decided to lift the restriction on Twitter operations in Nigeria.
Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, said the Nigerian government would lift the ban on Twitter operations in the country “in a matter of days”.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed after the week;s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which was headed by the Vice President Yemi
Osinbajo (SAN) at the State House, Abuja.
The Twitter ban which was initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria on the 5th of June, 2021 due to various reasons stated by the government, has restricted Nigerians from benefits associated with the twitter social media platform. Various businesses were been carried out online through the Twitter platform but due to the ban on Twitter network, so many business were shut down and so many citizens were affected by the new development.

He said Twitter has accepted the conditions given to the platform to operate in the country.
The Nigerian government had a few months ago banned Twitter in Nigeria.
Addressing a press conference, Mohammed had said the micro-blogging site was banned because it posed a threat to Nigeria’s unity.
Mohammed had said some Nigerians were using the site to propagate messages capable of secession.
